Blackpool Illuminations Trip October 2017

The 36 of the Sporting Challenge group went on a trip to see the Blackpool Illuminations on 25th October 2017.

The group had tea at the Seafarer Restaurant in Lytham-St-Annes and then went on to see the Illuminations.

Edward McCarthy Activities Coordinator said: “The group had a great time. the weather was great. I would like to thank all the activities support staff, the restaurant staff and Don Fraser Coaches for a fantastic trip. The trip was partly funded by the Community ink.  A big thank-you from Sporting Challenge.”

Sporting Challenge are a registered charity who provide social activities for 45 people with additional needs in West Lancashire.

Sporting Challenge arrange evening and weekend activities that  include Ten Pin Bowling, Aerobics, Swimming and Boccia/Kurling at local Sports Centres. They provide Sessional Workers who will collect them from where they live, support the people whilst they are at the sports centres and then return them home after the activities.

Sporting Challenge Talent Show

The first Sporting Challenge Talent Showcase Event took place at the Burscough Legion, Lord St, Burscough on Saturday 14th October at 7:30pm. The night included singing, dancing, magic, comedy, break dancing and much more !

The group have been practicing for months and there hard work came through in the performance. A big thank you from me to everyone who took part and everyone who supported the event.”

Edward added: “I would like to thank Amanda Baldwin who helped me organise the event, Russ who was our DJ/compere.”

During the event Sporting Challenge accepted a very kind donation from Northway Dental Practice and a donation from Resound Community Choir for £600.
