Members of the Sporting Challenge group based in West Lancashire are attending a weekend activity holiday at Hothersall Lodge between the 6th -8th September 2019.
Sporting Challenge is a family led charity started in 2008 operating in West Lancashire near Southport supporting people with learning disabilities, where all members of the Board of Trustees are parents and carers themselves.
The charity aims to provide sporting activities to encourage people with learning disabilities to keep fit and healthy.
They support around 61 people in the West Lancashire area to access a variety of activities by providing transport to and from their homes and the appropriate sessional workers to support them whilst carrying out the activities.
Grants received from the Rank Pebbles Foundation , The Co-op and The Lee And Bakirgian Family Trust have helped part fund the weekend.
They will be trying: Archery, Gorge, Raft Build, Paddle sports, Climbing & Zip line.
Hothersall Lodge Outdoor Education Centre is situated in the picturesque Ribble Valley, surrounded by woodland, water and fields, our seven acre grounds and canoe lake offer a great base to come and visit. Located towards the end of Hothersall Lane, Hothersall Lodge is within easy access of Ribchester and Longridge. The centre is run by Lancashire County Council.
They welcome guests of all ages and capacities, offering the following provision:
