Dear all
Latest update below.
Many thanks , Edward.
From the Sporting Challenge Committee.

Sporting Challenge June 2022.
We hope that you are all well and look forward to enjoying the additional activities that are available this month.
A reminder that COVID is still with us in the community and some sensible precautions should still be applied especially when travelling to and from activities
The trustees continue to take a cautious approach and ask that you continue to wear a mask when travelling to and from Sporting Challenge activities in a car or other means of transport as this is an enclosed space, remembering that we do have members who are considered to be extremely vulnerable and we need to look out for their wellbeing / keep them safe.
Masks become optional when you get to the activity and no longer in an enclosed space.
When it is necessary you may find that cars may have three members travelling together (with the driver advising members of the seating arrangements / who sits where on all journeys) although it should be noted that this will not always be the case.
Stay at home if you’re feeling unwell – Government guidance is to try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.
Please respect this guidance so to protect our members.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms in adults can include:
- a high temperature or shivering (chills) – a high temperature means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
- shortness of breath
- feeling tired or exhausted
- an aching body
- a headache
- a sore throat
- a blocked or runny nose
- loss of appetite
- diarrhoea
- feeling sick or being sick
The symptoms are very similar to symptoms of other illnesses, such as colds and flu.

Please let us know that you are unable to attend an activity to avoid the sessional staff calling to pick you up.
Finally, the charity’s advice to parents and carers is that the decision to allow members to attend Sporting Challenge activities is theirs alone.
